The Environmental Enhancement Awards Gala was a huge success!

The Long Island Nursery & Landscape Association (LINLA) proudly announced the winners of its 45th Annual Design Awards Program at a Gala Event held on February 29, 2026. The event celebrated excellence in landscape design, honoring outstanding projects and the talented companies behind them.

​This year’s competition saw a record 31 entries, showcasing the creativity and expertise of Long Island’s premier landscape professionals.

New this year is the Celebrity Choice Award. We welcomed local celebrity Alex Calamia to evaluate the entries and choose his personal favorite. Alex is a 2x Emmy Award-winning and AMS-certified broadcast meteorologist with a passion for accurate forecasting and great storytelling that resonates with viewers. He joined News 12 as their weekend morning Meteorologist in June 2022, but viewers know him just as well as “the plant man” because of the success of the network-wide garden segment, Garden Guide.

The Design Awards committee extends special thanks to the judges—Vincent Simeone, Joseph Bello, Michael Boice, Nelson Sterner, Skyler Westergard, Timothy Marten, and Alex Calamia—whose dedication and expertise were essential in evaluating this year’s entries.
